Operating as a business unit of Atlanta-based SpaceWorks Enterprises, Blink Astro LLC (Blink®) is developing a low cost satellite-based solution for machine-to-machine (M2M) and for the satellite-based Internet of Things markets. Using affordable, modular BlinkSats and ground units proprietary to the firm, Blink and its partners are structured to deliver a global network for low bandwidth device connectivity to a variety of customers in precision agriculture, transportation, energy, environmental monitoring, and defense. Blink Astro® is a business unit of Atlanta-based SpaceWorks Enterprises. In late 2017, the firm rolled out the BlinkR Series 1000 ground terminal device as a part of an end-to-end customer solution for agricultural applications. The system measures soil moisture, ambient temperature and ambient humanity and includes an onboard GPS for geolocation of data. Data sampling intervals are customizable -- typically set at 30 minutes intervals. Moving data via satellite is also customizable: typically 4 times per day.
