Birdhabitatbot LLC is a recently formed startup tackling engagement of drones and robots to support and assist natural resource professionals to manage invasive shrub species. Example: Japanese barberry and multiflora rose are among the worst invasive species in terms of significantly contributing to the degradation of forest habitat.Current eradication methods are time consuming, expensive, and ultimately ineffective. Principals of the firm are developing a new method to work with unpiloted aerial systems and robotics to map and to monitor non-native invasive plants in the deciduous forest understory.
