Now operating as a satellite to the British firm BioComaptibles and therefore no longer SBIR eligible, BioPolymerix develops inert antimicrobial coatings for medical applications. These are based on inventions of a University of Massachusetts professor. The coatings are immobilized on surfaces of medical devices and implants, making them effective against a wide range of pathogens. The company was acquired by Biocompatibles International (LSE: BII)
