Record as in receipt of a roundof NIH Phase II funding as late as 2019, in orherrespects, the firm Biomedical Acoustics Research Company (BARC) seems to have dropped off the radar. The firm had been structured around the development of innovative medical diagnostics using computerized body sound analysis. The firm's approach had been to integrate and combine medical knowledge, cutting edge digital signal processing, and sensor technologies to produce accurate and immediate diagnoses. Projectstackled included devices for diagnosing several pulmonary, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal conditions. In effect meanagement defined the firm as in the business of diagnosis of medical problems by "listening to our patients" using computerized analysis of various body sounds with a focus on development of technologies for diagnosis (and possibly for therapeutics) utilizing sound in the acoustic range - an approach (it was suggseted) was nexpensive, safe, comfortable, portable, and accurate.
