BioHesion discovers and develops applications for its Gold Binding technology (GBT). This technology is based on the discovery of peptides which bind gold surfaces with high (picoMolar) affinity. The gold binding sequence occurs as a multimeric direct repeat, and modelling studies suggested that the repeated peptides form an extended anti-parallel beta-sheet, which interacts with the metallic surface via polar side-chains.
