Bio-Technical Resources Inc provides consultation in technical and bio-economic feasibility of industrial biotechnology, applied and product-oriented research for industrial fermentation, brewing, malting, distilling, food, seed and specialty chemical industries, with special emphasis on products from micro-algae. The services include laboratory and pilot plant research, process development, economic and technical feasibility studies, consulting services and technology transfer. BTR develops process technologies based on microbial fermentation and biocatalysis. Laboratory and consulting services are provided on a contract basis and include recombinant and classical strain improvement, fermentation and downstream process development and scale-up, metabolic pathway engineering, microbial screening, technical and economic feasibility studies, and small-scale custom fermentation. Custom expression services are also offered. Technologies are available for license or partnering in the areas of fermentation, such as vitamins and other compounds, as well as semi-synthetic processes for antibiotics. BTR has experience in the development of enzymes, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, biocontrol agents, animal feed, and food and flavor ingredients.
