Belmont Instrument Corporation, aquired by the private equity firm Audax Group in 2017, develops reliable fluid management and critical care medical devices for global use in medical facilities and military combat fields. Specifically, the firm has focused on developing technology that prevents intravascular air embolism, a potentially deadly complication that can occur during medical care for cardiac issues. Belmont has developed a Rapid Infuser that has two air detectors to detect air before it enters the patient's system.
