As a firm, Bear Fiber is addressing achieving a global supply of cottonized hemp fiber for technical textiles: industrial hemp. To date, very litte Industrial Hemp has been grown in the US but in the 2018 Farm Bill legalized its regulated production. With a primary focus on the production of textile grade fibers, Bear Fiber processes the product to achieve a fiber described as "similar to cotton, but (having) greater strength and abrasion, antimicrobial properties and UV resistance". Bear Fiber is now operational and structured to provide fully finished apparel to retail brands and cottonized natural hemp fiber, blended yarns & textiles for designers, development & production. The goal is to help grow the American Hemp Fiber Industry by developing a commercially sustainable market in the US to support farmers, processors, yarn spinners, textile manufacturers and the apparel industry.
