The company also operates as a research and development provider to integrators and commercial firms within the US and internationally. It focuses on commercializing technologies and products in various industry sectors, including in process quality assurance for manufacturing; aerospace and defense manufacturing; active protection systems for defending light armored vehicles; advanced materials for munitions; advanced materials for sporting goods; and advanced manufacturing technologies. The company has contracts with the federal government and private industry to develop technologies from their conception through the design, building, and testing of prototype systems.
