The Applied Thermal Sciences, Inc. (ATS) specialize in the design and development of advanced engines, vehicles, other thermal and structural component concepts and of advanced composite materials.. The firm combine mechanical analysis and design, material selection, thermal analysis and design, and experimental efforts into product development efforts. Using solid and kinematic modeling, finite element analyses, and computational fluid dynamics codes to analyze and predict the dynamic behaviors of the systems we develop. The firm's engineers work with ATS' machine shop personnel to fabricate most of our prototypes in-house for testing. Then in experimental efforts, personnel use knowledge of process control, data acquisition, and data analysis to demonstrate the technologies we have developed and use what we learn to improve the design. Fields of focus include HiPerTEC design, Laser welding and Hypersonics.
