Headquartered in Burbank, CA with offices in New York and Washington DC, Applied Minds, LLC.was founded by three ex-Disney Imagineers to provide technology, design, R&D, and consulting services to a range of large corporations - many in the DOD space but also commercial and non-profit arenas. The firm's products and services address a range of endeavor; software, aerospace, entertainment, electronics, biotechnology and architectural design. Firm has spawned /spun out several companies including Metaweb Technologies (the creators of Freebase, which was acquired by Google), TouchTable, and Applied Proteomics. Effectively blending the disciplines of art, design, science, and engineering across its employees, it is suggested that part of the firm's strength lies in their enabling the client to ask the right questions and then providing them with often unexpected solutions. With a cross-discipline approach and often convening multidisciplinary teams, the firm has worked on projects as diverse as autonomous systems, command centers, modeling and simulation systems, robotics, spacecraft, UAVs, user experiences, vehicles and more in both the public and the private sectors. Principals suggest that new developments in artificial intelligence and data fusion technologies may be leveraged to provide innovative human-machine interfaces for manned and unmanned systems for present and future USAF requirements
