Applied Imaging Corporation (acquired by Genetix) develops automated clinical analysis systems used by cytogenetic laboratories in prenatal genetic screening. The Company supplies products to enable the detection of prenatal genetic disorders through the analysis of nucleated fetal red blood cells obtained from a routine maternal blood sample. The Company's products includes semi-automatic and automatic slide-scanning systems designed to locate rare cells and a DNA Probe analysis systems and reagent kits used in the diagnosis of certain DNA-based genetic disorders.
