Doing work irelevant to Cyber Security, Information Technology, Intelligent Systems, and Space Travel, in July 2018 the firm was acquired by L3 Communications now the sixth largest Defense Contractor in the US an one L3 Applied Defense Solutions had worked in the arenas of aerospace engineering, software development, and space situational awareness. Collaborating with NASA, Commercial and International Partners, the Department of Defense, and the Intelligence Community, the firm had provided critical support for space exploration and satellite operations, protection & resiliency. With a team of research scientists, program managers, software developers, aerospace engineers, and business professionals, the firm's personnel had flown dozens of satellites, including NASA science missions, military communications satellites, and commercial imagery satellites. This year, L3 ADS will add to our satellite operations pedigree by supporting several upcoming NASA, DoD, and commercial satellite and constellation launches. The firm's software and aerospace engineers collaborate to build innovative flight dynamics and mission planning software systems that automate trajectory design and maneuver planning, orbit determination and propagation, collision assessment and avoidance, and other mission critical functions. Additionally the firm's work in astrodynamics modeling and simulation capabilities span all orbital regimes including LEO, HEO, GEO, Lunar, CisLunar, and Interplanetary and enable real-time hardware/software-in-the-loop testing of GNC/RPO algorithms and flight software.
