Public Profile

In May 2009, Analytica of Branford Inc was acquired by PerkinElmer. Analytica of Branford Inc had begun as a spin-off from Yale to commercialize Electrospray ionization for mass spectrometry. The emphasis has been on development of cutting edge tools for coupling liquid separation systems to mass spectrometry. Originally Analytica designed and manufactured ion sources exclusively (Electrospray, Atmospheric pressure chemical ionization and their variants) for both OEM customers and end-users in the organic MS market. Since then, the firm has pioneered the development of atmospheric pressure ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometers (API-TOF-MS). This class of analytical instruments are beginning to play an important role in the fast and accurate chemical analysis of pharmaceutical and biological compounds.
