Amplified Design Solutions LLC adba Amplified Space and specializing in smart power systems for spacecraft, has been selected to deliver the power controller for the Radio And Laser PatH agnostIc communications Experiment (RALPHIE) mission at the University of Colorado-Boulder (CU-Boulder). Program run in conjunction with the Air Forces Research Labs University Nanosatellite Program (AFRL UNP). Structured around performing experiments designed to reduce the bottleneck between satellite and ground-based communication systems, the spacecraft (about size ofshoebox) has a demanding list of power system design challenges that require new power system technologies. A privately held aerospace power systems company, AmplifiedSpace is going some way towards redefining how spacecraft are built and operated. The firm's patent pending technology could enable spacecraft development times to be reduced significantly from 24 months currently required enabling rapid manufacturing and on-orbit configurability in ways not previosuly seen before.
