Though in business since 2015 and still describing themselves as in stealth mode, American Nanotechnolgies (aka ANI) is structured around leveraging low-cost, high-purity semiconducting carbon nanotubes to make state of the art chemical sensors: novel systems for the large-scale purification of high-value dielectric materials. The firm's one-page website notes that "Synthesis is easy. Purification is hard". THey describe themselves as "opening the door between advanced materials and industry" ... going on to say "Too often cutting edge materials go unused because the costs of purifying to industrial-quality are so high. ANI is working to fix that."
