Public Profile

Ambay Immune Sensors and Controls (AISC) had been structured around enabling early(ier) detection of diseases. A basic premise from which the firm operated had been that at the cellular level, here are often signs of disease onset - long before manifestion of symptoms. Therefore the firm is addressing an approach that detects changes in Immuno-Biochemical Signals in the blood. The firm initial focused on cancers - specifically, breast cancer - the number one cause of cancer death in women. Premsie: the most widely accepted screening protocol for early detection of breast cancer is mammography- having its own limitations: in young and premenopausal women mammography present the risk of false positives for women of ages 40-49. An option for younger women with no family history of breast cancer is regular self breast exams. Instead, AISC is developing a cost effective sensing technology: design of a novel sensor for early detection of breast cancer in blood .. not only overcoming the limitations of mammography but also providing additional benefits.
