Amaratek was founded with the focus on delivering R&D services for Defense and Homeland Security. For DOD, Amaratek early developed a biological system for the neutralization of chemical weapons and delivered a working system to the US Army. Over this period management also consulted with DTRA, DARPA and the Army personnel re. potential innovative solutions for the demilitarization of chemical and biological weapons and with FDA for Bioshield Project. Subsequently, the skills and insights honed for military applications having relavance for civilian application - reliable health systems, water, energy, and transportation - Amaratek personnel has since provided technical services to foreign governments, NGOs, and social entrepreneurs.
