AeroShield Materials Inc, spun out of MIT, develops and manufactures an insulating glass sheet utilizing slice aerogel technology. The firm's technology offers an ultra-low density, super insulation, and heat resistance while being more transparent than glass, lightweight, and providing 2-3X higher levels of insulation than traditional windows. In addition to windows, the technology has applications for Solar Panels efficiency by allowing sunlight to enter but prevent heat from leaving the solar panels.
