The realization of true color high resolution imaging systems that operate with an effective engagement range in both daylight and low light level conditions presents a difficult yet necessary challenge. Enabling color visualization cues under all illumination conditions for tactical imaging systems can greatly increase situational awareness, increase target detection/identification time, and reduce collateral damage. For example, being able to quickly determine color differences between vehicles or being able to distinguish between pavement and water can greatly increase the ISR mission efficiency. optX imaging systems proposes to perform a comprehensive unbiased assessment of system level trades to develop a feasible true Color Night Vision sensor concept that includes not only the ideal imaging sensors but also the most optimal optical configuration possible. optX has a successful history of modeling, developing, prototyping, and transitioning tactical integrated imaging systems from the visible through the infrared spectrum. optX technical personnel have a vast experience in the areas of optical design, sensor modeling, low light level imaging sensors, color perception physiology, mechanical design, and prototyping.
