U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) missions require the ability to maneuver undetected in urban and rural environments. While Special Operations Forces (SOF) have developed Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) for avoiding adversarial humans and technologies, remotely deliverable deterrents for domesticated and feral canines have remained an elusive goal, sometimes compromising operational success. K2 Solutions, Inc. (K2), headquartered near Fort Bragg, North Carolina, has roots in both the SOF and canine communities, and has compiled a team of world-renowned experts to address this concern. Founded in 2003 by SOF professionals, K2 has since expanded to include Research and Development (R&D) specialists, canine experts, and business development managers. The K2 Team includes canine, R&D, and SOF operational Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who will collaborate to investigate and assess feasibility for canine response inhibitors in all performance areas in the solicitation. Team K2 canine trainers, handlers, instructors, and veterinary staff will work closely with Team K2 operational and R&D SMEs in Phase I to analyze and rank Courses of Action (COAs) by feasibility, investigate realistic remote delivery options, and evaluate scale-up potential.
