During Phase I, Boulder Nonlinear Systems proposes to use our beam control system expertise and leverage prior successful research to develop a conceptual design for the architecture of an ultra-low size, weight, and power-cost (SWaP-C) beam control system for optical intersatellite links. This will include identification of critical components and risk analysis. Technologies to be investigated include spatial light modulators and polarization grating based scanners. Additionally, BNS will demonstrate proof of concept beam steering.
