This SBIR proposal investigates a solution for Command and Control of Small Robotic Assets. Because of the location and tempo of military activities, standard computing equipment and their interfaces fail to support small units in their use of robotic assets. Current requirements for command and control of Unmanned Vehicles (UVs) do not take into consideration the highly dynamic and mobile conditions of use, or the potential impact on the workload of the warfighters striving to use them. The proposed work (including Phase I and Phase II) will develop technology to provide a small unit Commander (CDR) and his Robotics Operator (ROP) with multimodal collaboration and automated assistance tools that will allow them to coordinate their work to make effective and timely use of UV-provided information for enhanced situation awareness.
