Awardee's statement of the potential commercial applications of the research:The crystal structure of the vitamin D receptor will allow for a rational approach to drug design for vitamin D agonists and/or antagonists. Our screening assay compliments this approach by providing a quick, efficient, random screen for vitamin D mimetics.
