Currently, all JP10 is produced from fossil sources. The objective of the proposed project is to develop a scalable synthetic approach to producing JP-10 that meets military specification, MIL-DTL-87107E from non-fossil sustainable energy resources. During phase I, we will define, develop, and perform initial laboratory assessment of the proposed synthetic process to validate the technical feasibility of the synthetic approach to producing JP-10. Analysis will be performed to determine initial process selectivity. Based on the laboratory approach, we will define and develop a concept for a modular, scalable JP-10 synthetic process, that can meet the performance specifications.

Benefit:
Renewable domestic production of JP10 will be enabled. Greenhouse gas impact of DOD operations will be mitigated. Overall energy security of the nation will improve.
