Using the ADAP CRPA as its basis, GIRD Systems 0xA0 proposes to develop a GPS Interference Direction of Arrival (DoA) Initiative for User Purposes (GIDI-UP) solution based on a novel, high-performance DOA estimator that provides direction estimates of GPS interference/jammers/spoofers to be used by ADAP to place nulls in the identified directions and to enhance situational awareness of the RF environment (e.g., locate spoofers). 0xA0 0xA0 GIRD leverages their TRL-6 wideband, polarization-invariant, super-resolution 0xA0 DOA estimator, which has been proven in field tests, and extends its performance through the use of the virtual array (VA) concept to enable higher resolution DOA estimates and performance that is robust to multipath, noise, signal bandwidth, and model mismatch errors. The technical solution 0xA0 will yield the required accuracy of less than one 1 0xA0 deg 0xA0 (Threshold) / 0.5 deg 0xA0 (Objective) in azimuth and elevation while estimating DOAs for more than the required 6 interfernce siganls.

Benefit:
The proposed technological solution enables high accuracy direction of arrival (DOA) estimation or direction finding (DF) with fewer antenna elements in the array, saving hardware costs. 0xA0 The estimator is robust to noise and large interference (high dynamic range between signals of interest) enabling accurate DOA estimation in noisy, crowded RF environments. 0xA0 This technology is widely applicable to commercial and industrial users anywhere that GPS receiver arrays are used, e.g., industrial survey, open mining, precision farming, commercial and privately owned vessels, etc. The DOA estimator can also serve as the basis of an accurate geolocation solution when GPS is not available.
