Trulite is proposing a high energy density oxygen generation system that allows for scalable oxygen production, long oxidizer storage life, and dynamic load management. Novel approaches will be taken to develop an oxygen generation methodology based on solid anhydrous perchlorate materials that can be stored at ambient pressures and handled safely. The sub-system can be easily integrated into a fuel cell power system to provide a complete power generation system for UUV’s at system energy densities approaching 650 W-Hr/kg and 700 W-Hr/L. When the oxygen generation system is paired with Trulite’s hydrogen production technology, the waste water produced from the fuel cell can be 100% internally recycled and used for hydrogen, and likely oxygen, generation.
