One barrier to PKI deployment is the lack of tools that perform certification path processing activities correctly, efficiently and securely. Another barrier is the lack of tools that preserve digitally signed PKI artifacts such as public key certificates and revocation information in order to provide long-term non-repudiation support. This SBIR proposal describes plans to build a server application that solves both of these problems and adheres to the applicable Internet Standards such as the Standard Certificate Validation Protocol (SCVP) developed by the PKIX Working Group and the Evidence Record Syntax (ERS) developed by the LTANS Working Group.
