Cost effective technologies exist for the design and production of high frequency, brushless rotary servo motors for use in Navy designed and maintained underwater systems. This solicitation presents an opportunity to replace existing technology with state of the art, AIREX designed brushless motor technology and AIREX designed automated manufacturing processes. This proposal introduces Navy applications to AIREX designed ultra low cogging, high torque, high frequency rotary servo motors. This motor design can be scaled to meet virtually any Naval application, while the AIREX designed workcell manufacturing system can meet Navy production demand with cost effective, flexible production programs. This Phase I proposal will: 1. Review Navy applications/technologies and current Navy motor specifications 2. Establish complete technical specifications for a target Navy application 3. Design and build a prototype motor for the selected application/specification 4. Perform complete testing on the selected prototype motor 5. Document motor testing results including application notes 6. Develop prototype tooling for initial production 7. Establish complete workcell specifications for initial production 8. Package and deliver prototype for Navy application testing/evaluation 9. Begin commercialization efforts
