HMRL proposes to evaluate the laser based covert portable airfield lighting system for expeditionary field application. The proposed Phase I work includes: a comparison/contrast of existing portable airfield lighting systems; development of approach path flight profiles based on the V-22 for testing the portable airfield lighting systems; field testing of the laser based covert portable airfield lighting system; and generation of a final report.
