Fatigue life enhancement of bushed titanium lugs will be investigated. A unique technique, forcemate (FM), for installation of bushings will be demonstrated. Effect of process parameters will be evaluated and those parameters optimized for the particular configuration under investigation. At each phase of the investigation, fatigue life comparisons will be made between lugs and bushings installed using the fm process, and lugs with bushing installed using traditional techniques.
