This project will identify the relationship between the threat of triggered lightning to launch vehicles and radar signatures from convective clouds. The experiment will correlate airborne measurements of electric fields with radar measurements in order to develop radar-derived parameters that will enable the determination of more launch opportunities while maintaining the conservative factor of safety in the launch commit criteria. This work will improve launch opportunities by providing definitive criteria for lightning threat radar, electric fields, ABFM, launch commit criteria (LCC)
