The proposed work will develop a massively parallelized architecture for Monte Carlo simulation of real-time fire control schedulers. The parallelized architecture will utilize the recent developments in multiprocessing/multithreading technology based on graphical processing units. The system will be designed to perform in real-time assuming non-collocated sensors observing the threats and then communicating the information to fire control systems for action. It will allow the users to introduce various types of uncertainties in the sensors and communication systems, and insert their own scheduling algorithms for Monte Carlo simulation evaluations. Feasibility of the parallelized Monte Carlo simulation architecture will be demonstrated during the Phase I research using synthetic data. In Phase II, the software will be refined to develop a more general software prototype capable of using real missile defense data and more accurate fire control schedulers for use by the MDA and the systems integrators. In Phase III, the prototype system will be validated to form a fully functional software-hardware solution that can be seamlessly integrated with MDA high fidelity simulations. The software-hardware system will be the final deliverable under the Phase III work. Approved for Public Release | 20-MDA-10398 (2 Mar 20)
