Nonlinear Photonics will develop lithium niobate to maximize its holographic storage density. We will develop and characterize lithium niobate to minimize the bit error rate and maximize the storage capacity. Crystal growth, post-processing, and oxidation/ reduction will be used to maximize the M#. Holographic digital data storage systems can be used for hierarchical memories, video-on-demand, battlefield data bases, medical libaries, network software distribution, network computing, and network servers.
