Phase I Amount
$50,000
Plasmachines, Inc., has recently determined that an innovative plasma ignition system appears to extend the operating limits of ignition systems. This allows significantly improved NOx reduction. An immediate application would be the large scale natural gas reciprocating engines used to drive natural gas transmission pipeline compressors .

Phase II

Contract Number: ----------
Start Date: ----    Completed: ----
Phase II year
1994
Phase II Amount
$165,000
Plasmachines had demonstrated a novel plasma ignition system ontwo operating stationary internal combustion engines fueled by naturalgas and providing power to natural gas pipeline compressors. The newignition system has demonstrated the capability to reduce NOx emissionsfrom these engines from the levels of 10g/hp-hr to regulatory level at ornear 2.0 g/hp-hr. While the potential for significant reduction of NOxemissions on a national basis exists in this market alone, other sizeablereductions in automotive applications are also possible.
