In previous research and development, the company created Lyrics2Learn, an online intervention for students in kindergarten to grade five to practice phonetics skills by watching and singing along with music videos that incorporate rhythm, rhyme, repetition, animation, and movement. In this Phase I project, the research team will develop a prototype of an algorithm-based multi-media video that automatically adjusts its content and offers learning prompts based on how students respond. At the end of Phase I, in a pilot study with six educators and 100 students in their Kindergarten classrooms, the researchers will examine whether the prototype functions, if it adjusts content and provides individualized prompts for each student based on their responses, and if students' phonemic awareness increases from pre- to post test on a researcher developed measure.
