This project will develop a prototype that extends Makefully, a collaborative digital and physical multi-player puzzle-solving board game for math and computer science, with a focus on integrating music. The Phase I prototype will include additional physical and digital play modules and an adaptive component that provides feedback to students as they progress through the game to inform their learning. At the end of Phase I, in a pilot study with 100 first-grade students, the researchers will examine whether the prototype functions as planned, if collaborative gameplay is feasible in a classroom setting, and if students increase in math and computer science skills.
