This project team developed a prototype of the Readorium software intended to support students who struggle with reading comprehension in middle school science. The final product will include games, an avatar to guide the student, multi-media articles of differing levels of difficulty that are aligned to reading standards, and embedded assessments to provide feedback. Phase I research demonstrated that the prototype functioned as planned, that students were engaged by the prototype, and that teachers felt the product could eventually be integrated within daily practice.
