Anticipated Results/Potential Commercial Applications as described by the awardee:The anticipated results include the quantitative definition of each of the key variables that controls the continuous production of a maximum amount of high quality product coal by selective agglomeration. The key variables include shear type and energy, coal/water/agglomeration ratio, flow rate, coal particle size, coal type (agglomeration kinetics), and temperature. With a clear definition of these variables, the data will be reduced to engineering terms and relationships in support of existing plant modifications, future processing plant designs, and cost estimates.
