Founded in 1960, Dante Valve offers valuable engineering experience and manufacturing capabilities to the Department of Defense (DOD). We have manufactured over 50,000 relief valves that have been installed globally on surface ships and submarines. Our customer base includes Ingalls Shipbuilding, Newport News Shipbuilding, Electric Boat, Bath Iron Works, Marinette Marine, Austal and other new construction and repair facilities around the world. With manufacturing locations in both Bellflower, CA. and Norfolk, VA., we have a combined sixty thousand square feet of space for the manufacturing, machining and testing of our Danco product line. With an extensive commitment to inventory we have become an industry leader by helping our customers stay on schedule and minimizing downtime. Dante Valve is proud of our long partnership with the U.S. Navy. In addition to product support, we have invested our time and support to other worthy causes. We are a sponsor for Los Angeles Fleet Week held yearly for Navy outreach. Our President, Lisa Papini, is the Vice Chair for the Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition (ACIBC). We are also members of the Submarine Industrial Base Council (SIBC), Amphibious Warship Industrial Base Coalition (AWIBC), American Maritime Modernization Association (AMMA), Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA) and regularly make charitable contributions to the Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation whose mission is to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of post-9/11 combat veterans. For additional information on our company history, services and product offering, please go to www.dantevalve.com(link is external). The objective of this project is to design and develop three pressure relief valves – (1) for each of the previously mentioned NSNs and qualify each design in accordance with applicable testing requirements. This project will result in improved product availability and increased competition through the development of eligible manufacturing sources. Dante Valve is a manufacturer of Danco pressure relief valves used extensively throughout the Navy fleet. We currently provide valves similar to those required on 4820-01-342-0571, 4820-00-247-8693 and 4820-01-407-0685 to the US Navy and are confident we can engineer valves that meet or exceed the performance currently aboard U.S. Navy warships. Our products will remain in production and will be readily available for procurement. Dante Valve’s short production lead-times, product quality and lower cost of ownership are the cornerstones of our success. During Phase 1 of this project we will perform research and development (R&D) on the National Stock Numbers (NSNs) listed above. This will be accomplished by drawing and design review, and if needed, reverse engineering. Once R&D is completed we will manufacture, assemble, test and qualify prototype valves. Once completed, SAR packages will be submitted to representatives of DLA for Phase II or open purchase consideration by DLA.
