American Maglev Technology of Florida (AMT) Inc., in collaboration with partners HTS International Corporation, Virginia Commonwealth University, IIHR - Hydroscience Engineering at the University of Iowa, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and iMFLUX Inc (a wholly owned subsidiary of Procter & Gamble), proposes to develop a brand new production stream to deliver high-speed, lower-cost propellers for a long-standing existing Navy weapon. Tasks include extensive design reviews and sophisticated next-generation modeling and simulation. We will convert these models into test articles that meet the Navy's requirements using advanced, low-cost manufacturing techniques and novel materials science. The team proposes to deliver two (2) prototype propeller sets to the DLA for testing during the Option period and will offer independent testing capabilities at UNCC's famous water tunnel facility. The goal at the end of the research period is to develop a sequential Phase II proposal that qualifies the Team to meet the Navy's annual demand for propellers and associated components.
