Made In Space, Inc. (MIS) and Siemens PLM Software propose an integrated Automated Processing. Monitoring, Control and Remediation System (Aul) to provide a process monitoring and control capability. Made In Space, Inc. leads the effort based on integrating Made In Space, Inc., proven inspection sensors systems with a Digital Thread for Additive Manufacturing (DTAM) system, co-developed by Siemens PLM Software and Deloitte, enabling real time knowledge of additive manufacturing processes. This knowledge enables precise quality control and consistency in parts produced. The objectives of this effort are identify the suite of sensors/instruments necessary or desired for monitoring additively manufactured parts and Show that The Made In Space sensors and teammate Siemens PLM Softwares DTAM can be integrated for process monitoring and control of additively manufactured parts.

Made In Space, Inc. (MIS) proposes an Aulë Filament Inspection System (AFIS) to provide filament quality control capability for additive manufacturing (AM). AFIS enables the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) to confidently support AM efforts both internal to DLA and throughout its customer base such as the Marine Corp Advanced Manufacturing Operations Cell. To create the product quality line system, MIS integrates proven inspection sensor systems with data management software for filament quality assessment and supply chain monitoring. This system provides the DLA with proactive quality control and tracking of manufacturing materials throughout the supply chain, ensuring determinant and consistent part quality at the end user.
