DLAs Replenishment Parts Purchase or Borrow program supports reverse engineering for products without a technical data package. It is designed to allow vendors to visually inspect, borrow or purchase Government owned material with the intent of becoming an Approved Source. The normal expected result of reverse engineering is the creation of a technical data package using the SAR checklist. This achieves the ultimate goals of this SBIR solicitation, which is to enhance competition, lower costs, and improve lead times by developing and locating alternative sources of supply and manufacturing.
