A phage derived biosensor scaffolding agent will be investigated. A phage scaffold can exhibit high level of affinity, increased specificity/selectivity as well as long term stability. These properties will be investigated and the suitability for the detection of miute traces of Bacillus anthracis detrmined. A unique sensor platform, magnetostrictive materials, will also be investigated. This platform offers the potential of much greater sensitivity than most other commonly used sensor platforms
