The EJ-1 Electric Jetpack is the world's first all-electric jetpack. The US Patent has just been awarded for it (Patent Number 10994841) and AirBuoyant has built 5 prototypes so far, with what is being proposed as the 6th and best prototype, taking from all the research and development on the previous 5 marks to finalize the vision for this concept. The EJ-1 will be able to carry a 200 lb person (or cargo) with ease of intuitive control, and a great deal of safety, for between 5 and 8 minutes per charge, depending on the battery pack chosen. This will only increase over time as batteries improve. The aircraft can fly for 1000 hours between low-cost overhauls, Top speed will be over 60 mph, and max payload will be 250 lbs. It will also have a remote control option, allowing it to be used as a drone, or to be flown empty in order to pick someone up. It will be "summonable" by the pilot, so that it can come to the pilot, hover in place while strapped on, and fly away with the pilot. The EJ-1 will weigh as little as 80 lbs. The EJ-1 can be built and tested for the SBIR Phase 1 funding. AirBuoyant also is able to garner Indiana State SBIR Matching Funds, which will enhance this effort, and it is envisioned that this project could proceed directly to Phase 3 from Phase 1 if awarded.
