As antennas decrease in size their efficiency and bandwidth decrease. In order to improve the efficiency and frequency coverage of small antennas one must find a way to improve upon the Chu limit. Agile's proven approach is to use tunability to improve the Chu limit thereby allowing a small antenna to be tuned over broad frequency ranges by using tunable and reactive elements in the matching circuits. This technique has been demonstrated to greatly enhance the size and performance of handset antennas.
