This proposal outlines the research and development of a Command and Data Handling (CDH) subsystem for a nano-satellite platform. The general strategy proposed in this document is to develop a cheap, reliable, and effective nano-satellite CDH subsystem that can be standardized to meet a wide variety of future missions. The CDH architecture must use state of the art technology, be scalable and expandable, be open to future developments, have wide availability of capabilities, conform to existing software and hardware standards, and have a proven reliability record.
