The need for a graphical computer based functional emulation of a systems behavior has been identified by several requirements, including this announcement. The need exists for multiple stations which interact with each other as the actual real world system behaves. This project will provide a prototype vehicle to address this need. The prototype will demonstrate the capability and advantages of synthetic environment which also meets the need of going beyond the graphics resolution of current virtual technologies. This project will show that a functional synthetic environment can be also utilized as an advanced graphics user interface for the communication of several types of information. The other main goal is to test the feasibility for integration of this prototype into the Defense Modeling and Simulation Office's Defense Simulation Internet system, most probably through the Ethernet capability.
