A low-cost, high-performance, room-temperature LWIR camera has been a long-standing challenge in thefield of infrared imaging technology. Current solutions, such as uncooled microbolometers, suffer from lowsensitivity, slow response, and complex manufacturing processes. The proposed graphene-basedasymmetric plasmon-induced hot-carrier Seebeck LWIR detector exhibits an outstanding room temperatureresponsivity of 3200V/W, detectivity (D*) of order 109 Jones, and a fast response of ~ 100ns, whichsurpasses the performance of all present uncooled LWIR detectors with unmatched dynamically spectralselective attributes.
