Despite its logistical importance, the procedure for munitions resupply today remains essentially unchanged from 50 years ago. Soldiers manually record the munition data markings of different ordnance using pen and the paper Form 581 “Request for Issuance and Turn-In of Ammunition” which is used to track munitions and guide resupply. This inventory process is slow, prone to error, and moreover keeps the unit the in a stationary position during the resupply operation exposing them to an increased risk of enemy engagement. Our proposal describes how Acutate will progress the development of the Automated Inventory Management System (AIMS) to allow automation and streamlining of munitions inventorying with High Reliability under both controlled and uncontrolled conditions. Actuate will streamline the User Interface (UI) issues and make AIMS fully compatible with Nett Warrior mobile devices and apps such as Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK), and integrate with Cannon Ammunition Management Systems (CAMS). This will make AIMS available for field testing and deployment, in every kind of theater, a first-in-kind fully automated computer vision-based AI driven inventorying system with the goal being to increase Warfighter effectiveness during combat by minimizing time away from mission critical tasks.
